American Photographic Artists
American Photographic Artists, established in 1982, represents the interests of professional photographers, promotes the highest standards and ethics in the photographic and advertising community, provides educational resources, and fosters an environment conducive to achieving success in the industry.

American Society of Journalists and Authors, Inc. is the United States' leading organization of independent writers of magazine articles, trade books, and other forms of nonfiction writing.
American Society of Media Photographers
American Society of Media Photographers, Inc. was established in 1944 to protect and promote the interests of professional photographers who earn their living by making photographs for publication, and it is the world's leading organization of its kind.
The Association of Health Care Journalists
The Association of Health Care Journalists, Inc. is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public understanding of health care issues. Its mission is to improve the quality, accuracy and visibility of health care reporting, writing and editing. Our goals are to support the highest standards of reporting, writing, editing and broadcasting in health care journalism for the general public and trade publications; to develop a strong and vibrant community of journalists concerned with all forms of health care journalism; to raise the stature of health care journalism in newsrooms, the public and industry; and to advocate for the improvement of professional development opportunities for journalists who cover any aspect of health and health care.
The Authors Guild
The Authors Guild, Inc. which represents almost 8,000 published authors in many different genres, reviews members' publishing and agency contracts, intervenes in publishing disputes and lobbies on behalf of all authors.
The Dramatists Guild of America
The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. is the only national professional association devoted to representing the interests of playwrights, composers and lyricists in the United States, and has over 6,000 members.
Garden.comm
Garden.comm provides garden writers with authoritative information on writer's issues, new horticultural research and industry developments, distributes model contracts and provides legal assistance to members, and works to further the interests of members.
Graphic Artists Guild
Graphic Artists Guild is a trade association of illustrators, designers, production artists and other creatives who have come together to pursue common goals, raise industry standards, and improve the ability of visual creators to achieve rewarding careers.
The Horror Writers Association
The Horror Writers Association is the peak body for writers of horror, dark fiction and occult fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Founded in 1985, it has 1100 members and provides a wide range of outreach, literacy and member services, as well as giving the iconic Bram Stoker Awards.
Mystery Writers of America
Mystery Writers of America promotes and protects the interest and welfare of mystery writers, promotes literary recognition of the genre by sponsoring the Edgar Awards, encourages literacy and future readership, and advances the development of writers.
National Association of Science Writers
National Association of Science Writers, Inc., founded in 1934, fosters exellence in science writing and the free flow of science information and promotes the professional interests of its approximately 2300 members.
The National Press Photographers Association
The National Press Photographers Association, founded in 1946, is dedicated to the advancement of visual journalism, its creation, practice, training, editing and distribution, in all news media and works to promote its role as a vital public service. NPPA encourages visual journalists to reflect high standards of quality in their professional performance and in their personal code of ethics. NPPA vigorously promotes freedom of the press in all its forms. To this end, NPPA provides continuing educational programs and fraternalism without bias, as we support and acknowledge the best the profession has to offer.
The National Writers Union
The National Writers Union, the only union for freelance writers, advises members on contracts, represents members in grievances with the publishing industry and lobbies for legislation to strengthen authors' rights in copyright and other laws.
Novelists, Inc.
Novelists, Inc., a professional organization composed of over five hundred writers of popular fiction, provides professional advice to its writers, investigates new problems and issues and advocates for changes that are in the members' interests.
Romance Writers of America, Inc.
Romance Writers of America, Inc., the national association for authors who write romantic fiction, promotes the genre of romance to readers, booksellers, librarians and the media, and represents 2,800 published authors.
Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association
Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of Association is charged with informing science fiction and fantasy writers on professional matters, protecting their interests, and helping them deal effectively with agents, editors, anthologists and producers in non-print media.
Sisters In Crime
Sisters In Crime was founded to combat discrimination against women in the mystery field, educate publishers and the general public as to inequities in the treatment of female authors, raise the level of awareness of their contribution to the field, and promote the professional advancement of women who write mysteries.
Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators
Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators is the only organization in the country devoted to assisting and furthering the careers of children's book authors and illustrators.
Society of American Travel Writers
Society of American Travel Writers, now in its 50th year, is a tax-exempt professional association whose purpose is to promote responsible journalism, provide professional support and development for our members, and encourage the conservation and preservation of travel resources worldwide. Our members include writers, photographers, editors, electronic media and journalists, film lecturers, broadcast/video/film producers and public relations representatives.
Society of Illustrators
Society of Illustrators was founded in 1901 to promote the art of illustration: past, present and future. It is headquartered in an 1875 vintage carriage house on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The Museum presents exhibits year round in theme, juried and one-person shows. The Scholarship programs for college-level art students have awarded over $1.5 million since 1980. Other educational programs include lectures, an archives and career guidance.
Songwriters Guild of America
Songwriters Guild of America was formed in 1931 to advance, promote and benefit the profession of songwriters or their estates through the collection of members' royalties from publishers, the auditing of writer accounts, notification and filing of members' copyright renewal applications, administration of members' publishing rights, and legal and legislative efforts.
Textbook & Academic Authors Association
Textbook & Academic Authors Association supplies information to authors of text and academic material regarding their professional interests as authors and educators, protects their rights in areas of copyright and contracts, and promotes, coordinates and assists in improving the general working conditions of creators of academic intellectual property.
Western Writers of America, Inc.
Western Writers of America, Inc. is an organization of freelance writers of Western fiction and nonfiction who banded together to lift the standards of their products, gain more effective and widespread promotion and publicity and foster a greater understanding of the mutual problems and efforts of its members.
