If you satisfy the qualifications listed below, you are eligible for membership.
While the Coalition provides a forum for strengthening relations among our Member Organizations and keeping current on advocacy issues, all groups involved zealously guard their independence. The only endeavor you would be signing onto would be the collection and distribution (to Member Organizations) of foreign non-title specific reprographic rights payments.
Qualifications:
Your organization
must have as current, dues-paying or emeritus members at least 500 authors or estates thereof whose U.S. copyrighted work is commercially distributed outside the United States, is reasonably capable of being photocopied abroad and is not self-published, or whose work, if self-published has no fewer than 1,000 copies sold, is commercially distributed outside the United States and is reasonably capable of being photocopied abroad;
has as its primary purpose the professional advancement of authors;
is a national organization whose membership is not limited to authors of any single city, state, region or locality; and
does not discriminate among its potential members on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political beliefs or national origin.
If your organization meets the above qualifications, you may apply for membership by submitting corporate documents (e.g. bylaws and Articles of Incorporation) and an affidavit swearing to items 1 through 4.
